wow, packed a lot into the long weekend. it was longer than usual because i took this past friday off. played some golf with dad, took the whole family to the twins game on friday night. went to our friend sue's place for an outdoor party on saturday, checked out the new light rail systems on sunday. now, it's back to work. it feels like i've been gone for about a week with all the stuff i had waiting for me. anyway, just wanted to post a brief update as we wind down june. it will be busy for the next couple of weeks, & then it's vacation time. looking forward to the independence day festivities this coming weekend. more later...

enjoyed a fine father's day this past sunday...i received a book and "medal of honor" (WWII) xbox game from my beloved children. plus, i was even granted permission to play 9 holes of golf, which i jumped at.
looks like i am back to playing softball this summer, which if you'll remember, i opted out of at the beginning of the season. now, if i can remember how to throw, catch and hit i should be fine. tuesday nights in inver grove, which is a 25 mile one-way trip. it might seem far, but i've actually travelled farther than that in the past.
looking forward to taking the family vacation in about 3 weeks. it'll be nice to get away for awhile. that's all for now...

enjoyed a typically busy weekend. got caught on the golf course friday afternoon when a monster rain storm blasted through. managed to get about 14 holes in and we only lost a couple of balls and one cell phone (which was later recovered - not mine:-)
the girls had their big dance recital on saturday night, which went really well. alaina's third and noelle's first. alaina will be back in dance for sure next year, noelle wants to think about it. she likes to dance but is "not to sure" about the recital part.
got a bunch of projects done this weekend including the last phase of "project: shrub stump removal", which is not easy work. also got a lilac bush planted. still hearing bids on "project: get the porch roof leak-proofed before next winter". hopefully we'll decide on a contractor and get it done in the next few weeks. also completed "project: get the car-top carrier fully assembled before vacation" which was a two-person job, and strung out over several weekends.
have to attend a 3 hour "introduction to ITIL-IT infrastructure" seminar at the Minnesota Center in bloomington this friday, where oddly enough, i served as a security gaurd in the late 80's. that was a great job...sit at a desk all night and drink coffee.
i'll get another post listed when something else happens.

summer has unofficially arrived! low 90's and humid today. so much for an easy transition.

HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY TO NOELLE!!
i remember the day she was born like it was yesterday. it was a wednesday (like today) afternoon at fairview university in minneapolis. we were watching the movie "waterboy" with adam sandler, which wasn't very good. then the real fun began and there she was. i had a laptop in the room and began mass mailing my friends. i still have my original email, here is what i wrote:

Noelle Kay Price was born fashionably late @ 2:45 this afternoon. She was 9 lbs
and 13 ozs and 22.5 inches long! Mom and baby are doing well! I don't have
pictures yet but will soon have some posted at

of course that link doesn't work anymore but still. pretty cool, huh?
that's all for now...
