noelle played in her first school softball game this afternoon. the team played well but came up short on the scorecard. noelle was 0-1 with a walk and played some stellar first base with three put-outs.
enjoying some spectacular spring weather in the greater minneapolis area lately. for the second straight weekend i've made myself a to-do list, checked it twice, and promptly nailed each and every task. for those keeping score at home today's list included:
regular saturday house cleaning
sweep, clean, and organize garage
put away sleds, snowblower and shovels in the shed
get out lawn chairs, hoses, and summer things from shed
buy replacement 1x4 to fix shed door, actually fixing shed door on future list
take 6 iron i broke last fall to "golf galaxy" for repair
buy kids soccer and softball cleats from "play it again sports"
rake and pick up sticks from yard
fix kickstand on wife's bike
a boring post to be sure, but i was due and i take pleasure in small victories
today was my first of many visits to the new home of the minnesota twins, target field. much hype has been heaped and praise bestowed on the opening of this spectacular venue and as a baseball purist i can say that this ballpark is nothing short of breathtaking. gorgeous sight lines, all of the amenities, a picturesque view of downtown minneapolis, and all in a natural setting. the park has it's own character and all of the charm and features that an outdoor park should have. i'm confident that every twins fan will love it. i saw the twins beat the cardinals today 8-3 but the actual game and final score was almost secondary to the actual experience of the event. twins turn the page starting monday, the season begins and the scores count. check out my extended photo gallery here
i have been trying to get windows (real windows, not the OS) in our old server room for going on two years. i know this is not a big deal to anyone but me and my 2 co-workers who also live in this room everyday, but today was the day. a couple of months ago, they cut out the sheet rock in our wall and today they installed the gorgeous double-paned glass beauties. it's still an ugly room, with concrete floors and high exposed ceilings, with cables and wires running everywhere, but the outside light gives the room a very different look and feel. the view is nothing great, since we're in the back of the building and can only see the parking lot and not the highway or anything but to actually know if it's sunny or cloudy or raining outside is a brand new experience for us. yay for our server room extreme makeover!
