christmas wrap 2013...

christmas day has come and gone but the spirit of the season rolls on! we spent a fantastic christmas day with family on both sides. more events planned over the next few days and i will enjoy a few needed days off of work. all the best for 2014!

jam-packed weekend...

the weekend was a blur as we packed in the snow ball, a dance competition, and a basketball tournament. the busy season is upon us, and not slowing down anytime soon!

the st. anthony u11 traveling squad went 1-2 in their season opening tournament at park center high school, losing to jefferson and edina but got a win against rockford

zombie prom!...

congrats to my daughter and high school  classmates on their 3 day run of the musical "zombie prom"! a lot of hard work, sacrifice, and dedication made this production a smashing success. well done!

chargers soccer...

the st charles green cub team is two games into the fall season and are 1-1. they began the season last week with a 5-2 win and lost today 6-2. looking forward to watching the team this fall!

day at the fair...

we lucked out with a significantly cooler day today, based on the current stretch of super hot weather. hit the usual hot spots, had some breakfast pizza, prontos, fried pickles, cookies at sweet Martha's. did about 7 hours, more than enough. the end of the fair means the un-official start of the school year!

got to see one of my all-time favorite bands last night, at the mn state fair grandstand. depeche mode played a rockin' 2 hour set that included a nice mix of old and new songs and some interesting mixes as well. a warm but otherwise perfect summer night for an outdoor concert!

twin lakes 2013 recap...

we spent the past week up in twin lakes, michigan, at a resort that our family has visited many times. we enjoyed some pleasant weather, swimming, bonfires, a round of golf, and general family together-ness! we had a couple of nights out, including a trip into town (houghton) to visit a family relative, and to enjoy some pizza at the famous "ambassador" restaurant. certainly a week to remember!
