coming to terms...

i think many people at some point in their professional careers think about what it would be like to get a fresh start somewhere else. there's the "grass is always greener" syndrome that you can buy into in which you you convince yourself that you have it far worse than others who do the same job type as you. i think that can be a dangerouse road to go down, because there are never any guarantees. it has not been a secret that i have been researching other employment opportunities for the past 6-9 months. i have even gotten so far as having gone through some interviews. i think it's important to at least be aware of other career opportunities but actively looking is almost a full-time job in and of itself. my job is sort of changing and evolving, for the better - i think, and this has changed the way i view my current role, as well as my career path. i think with the way things are looking at this point, i am going to phase-out the "actively looking part" and just go back to the "being aware of other career opportunities" mode. i think you should never sell yourself short, and always be open for change, but at some point you have to move forward and focus on the here and now. more soon.

lord of the dance...

here's a clip of owen:

  • a. getting his groove on

  • b. cuttin' the rug

  • c. getting jiggy with it

  • d. cutting footloose

  • e. bustin' a move

  • f. all of the above

  • call it what you will, it is an unbridled, unrehearsed expression of sheer joy.
owen apparently makes no apologies for the fact that he is overcome with emotion and passion for this particlar song entitled, "get your head in the game" taken from the "highschool musical" soundtrack. notice his signature "hop on right foot grab left foot" manuever at the 0:24 mark, and his off the hook lip-synching skills.

    twinsfest 2007

my daughter noelle attended the annual twinsfest with a group of her friends at the end of january. i have been trying to get a copy of these pictures from her friends parent for several weeks and have finally succeeded. if you have been at thirdthoughts before, you can probably figure out which one is noelle. she's shown here with twins centerfielder and gold-glover torii hunter, ex-twin great and broadcaster bert blyleven, and up and coming outfielder and designated hitter jason kubel. my daugter has met more twins than i and has actually walked on the same fake grass of the metrodome that many baseball greats have walked. both of these facts make me both proud and slightly sad.
