much has been written about the current status of blogging, just google "blogging is dead". the blog has dramatically changed in recent years primarily due to the evolution of social media. but alas, we won't cry for the death of the blog today, for today is a day of celebration, and recollection. a day to look back on a dying medium and remember what it once was, before facebook and twitter, a living, breathing, journal of the significant events of my life, as they happened.
below are some statistics pulled about this blog over it's 10 year history...
- i have published 959 posts
- i have received 586 comments
- my post entitled "action-packed saturday and a buck a post" from feb 7th, 2009, had 648 unique page visits and i don't know why. by far the most page views any of my posts ever received.
- second in page views was "unwelcome guest", blogged on april 19th, 2009, with 534 unique page visits
- "a good sign", from october 2009, comes in a distant third with 139 unique page visits.
i guess you could say that this blog's relative popularity peaked in 2009?
some more bits...
page views by country
like ranch dressing, i've had more popularity in the states than in europe. thank you netherlands and russia for paying attention! canada can suck it.
browsers and os's
netscape made this list? really??
so, i can't say that this blog has 10 more years of life, we'll have wait to see how the web continues to evolve but it's been a fun ride!
