wisconsin dells vacation, 2014...

the price's enjoyed a water park themed vacation this year as we travelled to wisconsin dells', "wilderness resort" and stayed at the glacier canyon lodge. we packed a lot into 3 days and visited each and every indoor and outdoor park at the resort, at least once. might take another day next time to ensure a more leisurely pace but we rocked it hard and had a great time!

glen hansard, 1st ave, 8/5/14...

daughter and i went to see Glen Hansard and friends play an excellent show at First Avenue last night. Glen is an exceptionally talented singer and performer and brings a ton of energy to his live shows. Played for over two hours and the encore itself was nearly an hour! See the set list here.

guiness international champions cup...

this summer has seen a spike of soccer buzz in our household, starting with my son's very successful u11 soccer season, the drama of the World Cup, and finally an international champions cup game being played right here in Minnesota. my son and i went to this event at TCF bank stadium yesterday and saw Olympiakos beat the favored Manchester City in penalties. (see link) we also stuck around for the 1st half of the MNUFC vs Ottawa Fury game, which the Loons won 2-1. it was great to see the local soccer rubes show up in force, (and their favorite kits). events like this one, the success of MNUFC, and talk of an MLS franchise has proven that this areas influence in the sport has grow a lot.

Huskies U11 Boys Soccer...

The Huskies U11 Soccer Team had a great Spring season, finishing the regular season 10-0 and winning the C3 Boys North League. They also won their State Qualifier game and advanced to the MYSA State Tournament. The Huskies played well and gave a great effort but ultimately fell short in their goal to advance to the championship game. This is a great team and it's been a fun and exciting season. Well done Huskie U3 boys!
