the st. charles 8th grade girls basketball team beat a scrappy ascension team tonight (by 4 pts) to finish in 3rd place in the mcyo catholic league. after rebounding from a tough loss last friday, that would have seen them play for the championship, they took care of business tonight and locked down 3rd place overall. this was a team that had it's ups and downs over the course of the season, but showed a lot of improvement and had some great moments down the stretch.
