fall soccer...

owen & team played great today - he got his first goal ever! he also was able to stop a kick by the other team using only his face, not easy to do. he toughed it out, and didn't have to come out of the game. thats' my boy

day 1...

first day of school is always a big day at the price's. alaina is entering her final year at st. charles school! time to live it up and take advantage of the seniority. next year is a whole new ballgame. noelle enters 6th grade and owen begins second this year.

a new start...

spent the last couple of days converting the room over our garage, formerly known as the "play room", into alaina's new bedroom. this involved a lot of work, from moving all of the years of accumulated stuff, shuffling toys around that are still used, to cleaning, sanding, painting, and fixing. it's still a work in progress but she did sleep in her new room for the first time last night. the goal has always been to get her in there before school starts. looks like we made it just in time.

tomorrow the price's take their annual friday-before-labor day journey to the great minnesota get-together, otherwise known as the state fair. we've had this traditional gig going for a number of years, it's always one of the first vacation days i request. after a long stretch of hot, muggy, weather, i think the cooler expected tems will be a welcome relief. hot & muggy only amplifies the smells you get from the swine barn, trash cans, and restrooms. the kids are psyching themselves up for a long day of walking and consuming, as well as a stop at the midway and kidway. we are always wiped at the end of the day but it's always a good time.
