tech-talk:
with all this xp training i'm seriously considering installing it on the home pc (again). problem is, i have to make sure i'm well prepared ahead of time and there's a lot of work involved in that. i want to create a powerquest image of my current machine in case the unthinkable were to happen, download and burn to cd all of the xp complient drivers i would need for all my devices, and then probably have to work out any kinks with it once it's done. i'm also thinking of getting another 128 mb dimm to max me out at 384 mb of ram. there's no reason xp wouldn't run on a 700 mhz machine with 384 mb of ram and a 30 gig hard drive. hp won't gurantee it'll work since it was never "tested" on xp but i can't imagine i'd get catastrophic results. the worst thing that would happen is i'd be left with some incompatible driver issues. i think it's worth the risk, but it'll take some time to get there.
only 2 more days of class left!
