the end of "thirdthoughts"...

i've had an online presence in the form of a weblog since the late 90's. i started out using a service called "Angelfire" where i crafted together some very crude pages using some HTML code that i pretty much learned on my own. in 2002 i bought the domain name "thirdthoughts" from "1&1" and got in on the ground level of a pretty sweet deal of buying some web space and a domain name to host my blog. i used blogger to create the blog and pointed it to my own domain name. it has served me well over they years, where blogging was more of a thing, but the time had come where it just didn't make sense to pay for space and a domain name that i didn't really use anymore, even if it was super cheap. to that end, with my renewal coming up for another year, i decided to ditch the domain name for good. this blog will probably continue to exist here as a "blogspot" blog, until i decide to remove it altogether, but I will probably cease to make updates here, or at least make updates even more infrequently than i have in the past. having an online presence is still fun, but let's face it, things have changed a lot in the past few years with facebook, twitter, and instagram, sort of ruling the world.
it's been a great run - onward and upward!
